Sedation Dentistry

We offer different types of sedation dentistry. These include administering oral sedation (a pill), nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and intravenous sedation to deliver a combination of drugs. All this depends on the needs of the patient.

We provide sedation most often for the comfort of our patients. While asleep you will receive the best possible dental care stress and pain-free.

What is Sedation Dentistry or Sleep Dentistry?

Sedation MonitorWith oral medication, a patient is given oral medication before the appointment. The medication you receive places you in a light state of sedation and you sleep thru your dental appointment. It is Safe! Once you awaken your dental treatment is completed. No more hearing of dental instruments or having the glare of bright lights in your eyes.

With IV sedation, a patient is given medication intravenously.  The benefits of IV sedation are sedative effects are immediate and the dentist has the ability to titrate the medication to the desired level of sedation.   Like oral sedation you are in a light level of sedation, maintain all your reflexes and are able to rest comfortably without any anxiety.  It is a great option for those that have neglected their oral health due to fear of the dentist.

With sedation, you will need someone to drive you to and from your dental appointment. The effects of sedation can last for several hours after the process is complete. Once you arrive at our office you are allowed to rest comfortably in a warm, quiet room. During the entire time you are here, we will closely monitor you to ensure your safety.
