Questions to Ask Your Dentist at Your Next Checkup

Dentist and patient shaking handsIf you want to maximize the time spent here at Meadows Family Dentistry, there are a few questions you can ask to get the most out of your visit. It’s very important to us that our patients are educated about their oral health so that they can make informed decisions they can be comfortable making. Additionally, the more you know about your dental health, the better you’ll be able to care for your teeth and gums.

Questions to Ask Your Dentist

Below are 3 questions to consider asking at your next dental cleaning and exam. They can help you understand where your oral health is at and how you can improve it:

  • How is my oral health overall?

Asking about your overall dental health can help you get a better idea of what you’re doing right and where you could use more work. This is also a great way to get an understanding of what areas of your lifestyle or health are having an impact on your teeth and mouth.

  • How can I improve my oral health?

It’s important to follow through on any suggested treatments your dentist recommends. This is also a good time to talk about what kind of toothbrush you should be using, the type of toothpaste to purchase, and if you need to incorporate any additional products into your everyday oral hygiene routine.

  • Are there any non-dental medical issues I should be aware of?

Your dentist might be able to spot the signs and symptoms of a non-dental medical problem. If this is the case, you can make sure to visit your doctor to follow up on any possible overall health issues related to your dental health.

When you come to our office, please let us know about any questions or concerns you have regarding your dental health. We want to make sure to answer questions or address any potential issues you may be worried about.
